Our corporate History

We are a committed Luebeck based forwarding company, founded in 1984 and have been active for more than three decades. The Company is owner-managed, strongly customer focussed and specialized in providing a range of flexible and individual services. As a SME we and our team have been providing high quality logistic support throughout continental Europe and the Baltic region.

How it all began

In early 1984 The Possehl Group sold its transport company Wilhelm Brunow GmbH for which Peter Rose had been working as authorized officer and senior dispatcher for a period of 11 years. This prompted the question for Peter: Whether to work for the new owners or start his own business.

With a single Swedish warehouse customer after whom he had been looking previously and a starting capital of DM 25,000 mandatory for the incorporation of a GmbH at that time he took the plunge and on February 1, 1984 founded the Peter Rose GmbH on February 1, occupying a small warehouse with built-in office in Stockelsdorf near Luebeck.

After applying for and receiving the “Red Concession” from Kiel necessary then for the operation as freight forwarder the first vehicle was bought, a used MAN, followed a few months later by a brand new Mercedes. The Stockeldorf premises quickly became too small and in the same year the company relocated to the industrial area of Luebeck-Genin.

In 1988 Peter Rose established his own forwarding and logistic centre within the industrial estate of Luebeck-Roggenhorst so as to be able to facilitate further expansion of the business, though over the years the available space again reached its limits. For this reason the new terminal at the Scandinavienkai in Luebeck-Travemünde was established, with the first construction phase completed on January 16, 2016.
